ENGINEERING FORMULAS

Common electrical units used in formulas and equations are: Volt - unit of electrical potential or motive force - potential is required to send one ampere of current through one ohm of resistance Ohm - unit of resistance - one ohm is the resistance offered to the passage of one ampere when impelled by one volt Ampere - units of current - one ampere is the current which one volt can send through a resistance of one ohm Watt - unit of electrical energy or power - one watt is the product of one ampere and one volt - one ampere of current flowing under the force of one volt gives one watt of energy

CONSTRUCTION OF MOTORS

The three phase induction motor is the most widely used electrical motor. Almost 80% of the mechanical power used by industries is provided by three phase induction motors because of its simple and rugged construction, low cost, good operating characteristics, absence of commutator and good speed regulation. In three phase induction motor the power is transferred from stator to rotor winding through induction.

INOVATIVE IDEAS

Saving energy directly leads to large financial and environmental benefits. Energy Management System’s may help you to reduce energy consumption by up to 20%- 30% It works in following ways through our sophisticated software solutions, you can able to MONITOR, ANALYZE and CONTROL your energy by setting fixed target for your consumption. System Architecture – An EMS consists of smart energy meters, sensors and devices that monitor energy consumption and factors effecting consumption. These devices transmit data over wired or wireless network to a central server. An interactive application helps you in analyzing and reporting information, while engaging users.

WHAT IS A RELAY?

We know that most of the high end industrial application devices have relays for their effective working. Relays are simple switches which are operated both electrically and mechanically. Relays consist of a n electromagnet and also a set of contacts. The switching mechanism is carried out with the help of the electromagnet. There are also other operating principles for its working. But they differ according to their applications. Most of the devices have the application of relays

TRANSISTOR

Since PNP and NPN transistors are composed of different materials, how voltage is biased to them to produce current flow is different, and their current flow is opposite as well. PNP transistors are made up of 2 layers of P material sandwiching a layer of N material, while NPN transistors are made up of 2 layers of N material sandwiching 1 layer of P material. Really opposites. Therefore, to produce current flow in an NPN transistor, positive voltage is given to the collector terminal and current flows from the collector to the emitter. For a PNP transistor, positive voltage is given to the emitter terminal and current flows from the emitter to the collector.

TRANSISTOR TESTING

1. Testing with a multimeter Use a multimeter or a simple tester (battery, resistor and LED) to check each pair of leads for conduction. Set a digital multimeter to diode test and an analogue multimeter to a low resistance range. Test each pair of leads both ways (six tests in total): The base-emitter (BE) junction should behave like a diode and conduct one way only. The base-collector (BC) junction should behave like a diode and conduct one way only. The collector-emitter (CE) should not conduct either way
